New Age Fastening Systems, Inc. is a private owned corporation that has been in the Stud Welding industry for over 15 years.

The company was founded in 1996 by its current owners Mr. Stephen R. Swartz, Jr. and Mr. Craig Van Hoorn who both have had a strong determination to succeed through building a strong loyal network and never settling for second best. This same philosophy can be seen through their employees who are the lifeblood of the organization. The company quickly gained a reputation for its high production rates and quality, as it relates to the installation of pin studs in cyclone boiler systems. In addition they are recognized for innovative designs, timely service and unparalleled customer service. The company has grown and has been enriched with a highly qualified staff and crew. New Age presently maintains over 115 automatic Stud Welding systems in their rental fleet which enables them to respond to any job that may arise.

In addition to servicing the cyclone boiler market, New Age also maintains a construction division, Jobsite Stud Welding, which installs headed type studs on steel buildings, bridges and structures requiring concrete reinforcement. In 2003, New Age started to develop its coated stud program, TungStud® for the boiler market. This technology has proven that the life of a pin stud in the cyclone environment can be extended which ultimately saves the customer in costly repairs, as well as ensures that they stay online longer resulting in more production time. During 2003 as well, New Age developed their Thermal Spray division, which was an immediate compliment to their existing Boiler and Industrial Wear divisions. This process has led to the development of various coating systems such as the SAFE Coat®, which is a non-slip coating, WearX®, which is a wear material that is used in severe erosion and abrasion applications, as well as PolyX®, which is a polyolifin material that is applied in place of conventional epoxy paints. Due to its repairable nature, PolyX® has extended the coating life of applications that previously would require annual maintenance.

In the fall of 2004 New Age embarked on a new concept which has eventually transformed into their product New Age Blast Media® which is an expendable abrasive material used for blasting and profiling. This product is used in place of traditional materials that have proven to be both a health concern as well as ineffective. Heading up the Sales and Marketing for NABM out of our sister company, Novetas Solutions, is Mr. Paul J. Mellon, Jr. who has over 14 years experience in the Consumer Package Goods industry. His expertise is in brand management, category analysis and fact-based selling skills all of which have played a key role in the development and marketing of the various products and services for the New Age Corporation.

Our specialties cross over several industries and we have built a solid foundation of regular customers and continue to grow, adapt and change as necessary. Our four supply facilities (New Jersey, Missouri, Indiana and California) allow us to respond quickly to customer needs nationwide.

We are proud members of the AWS D1.1 committee for Stud Welding and
are signatory with both the Int’l Boilermakers and Ironworkers unions.
